Joan Martin

Joan Martin, 64, of Wheeler Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at her home. There will be no visitation, cremation will take place and services will be held at a later date. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Joan Martin was born January 7, 1949 in Carlsbad, NM to Winburn and Bernice (Cookson) Dillahunty. She married Dallas Martin on November 5, 1967 in Carlsbad. Joan worked at Landsun for 22 years. She loved her work and considered her patients as family. Joan liked to go and visit the family Dillahunty Ranch. She was preceded in death by her parents and half brother, Delmont Robinson. Survivors are her husband, Dallas Martin of Carlsbad, NM; step daughter, Sherlene Shelton and husband, Rickey of Carlsbad, NM; stepson: Kerry Martin of Illinois; two grandchildren: Brooke Barnett, Kristopher Martin; one great-grandchild; brother, Dale Dillahunty of Angleton, TX. two half-brothers: Chester Robinson of Clute, TX, Frank Robinson of Springfield, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
