Jewell Anderson, 96, of West Pierce Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013, at Lakeview Christian Home.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Monday, November 11, 2013, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 12, 2013, 11:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Bailey of Mayhill officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Jewell Anderson was born August 11, 1917 in Jenks, Oklahoma to John Owen and Chattie Inice (Phariss) Sikes. She graduated from Glenpool High School in Oklahoma. On June 12, 1939, she married Frank "Sweed" Anderson, Sr. in Hobbs, New Mexico. They moved to Carlsbad in 1941. She worked as a cashier for Brewer Oil Company for 36 years. Jewell was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rebekah's and Pals of the Praise; which was a singing group on the Will Rogers radio show. Jewell received an honorary degree from the College of the Southwest for her Faith, Hope, Support, Love and Charity. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Jewel also loved to be with her family. She and her family enjoyed RVing and camping. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters: Linda Kay Anderson, Nancy Harden; son, John Michael Anderson; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are her children: Joyce Vest and husband, Ray of Carlsbad, NM, Frank N. Anderson, Jr. and wife, Bobbie of Cloudcroft, NM, Jannie Cramer and husband, Shafter of Carlsbad, NM, Benny Anderson of Anthony, Texas; son-in-law, Gerald Harden of Carlsbad, NM; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Jim Sikes and wife, Barbara of Cloudcroft, NM, Perry Sikes and wife, Linda of Seattle, Washington; and sister, Wanda Wilson of Pennsylvania.
Pallbearers will be Cody Harden, Gil Vest, Travis Anderson, Chad Anderson, John Michael Anderson, Jr., Brian Chaffe, Aaron Kidd, Rocky Meadors, Daniel Lofton, David Elliott, Jordan Garcia and Dustin Vest.
