Jewel D. Dodrill

Jewel D. Dodrill, 93, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the Carlsbad Medical Center. Jewel was born on March 12, 1930, in Tango, WV to Sidney and Barbara Lowe.

Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM with Chaplain Terry McKean officiating. Interment will take place at the Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM.

Jewel married the love of her life, Kenneth on March 6, 1948, in West Verginia. They later moved to Carlsbad in 1959. She spent her time taking care of their three children, and then later getting to spend precious time with grandchildren. Family was everything to her, and they were her pride and joy. Jewel also enjoyed dancing and being out in her garden. She will be dearly missed.  

Jewel was preceded in death by her father, Sidney R. Lowe; mother, Barbara (McCalister) Lowe; husband, Kenneth D. Dodrill; son, Gary Dodrill; and two siblings: Nina Rallis and Cecil Lowe.

Jewel is survived by two children: David Dodrill and wife, Paula of Carlsbad, NM; and Patricia Michaelson and husband, Robert of Carlsbad, NM; three grandchildren: Melissa Rogers, Erin Dodrill, and Jolene Doyle; two great grandchildren: Zackary Rogers and Jaryd Rogers; two great great grandchildren: Whyatt Rogers and Rhylee Rogers; four siblings: Rex Lowe, Glenna Dotson, Hansford Lowe, and Charles Lowe; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
