Jesus E. "Don Chuy" Anaya, 90, of Davis Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, was called home by his Savior January 10, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
A Vigil is scheduled for January 14, 2010, Thursday, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, January 15, 2010, 1:00 PM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Jesus E. "Don Chuy" Anaya was born March 30, 1919 in Presidio, TX to Benigno and Maria (Escarsiga) Anaya. He married Felicita Lozano on November 30, 1946 in Carlsbad. Don Chuy enjoyed fishing, hunting, lollipops, kisses and watching football and baseball. He would sit in the rain and even snow to see his grandsons play for the Carlsbad Cavemen. He will now have the best seat in the stadium. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Manuel and Benito Anaya; sisters: Josefa Molina, Cruz Hernandez, Benigna Anaya and Paula Martinez.
Survivors include his wife, Felicita L. Anaya of Carlsbad, NM; three sons: Juan Anaya and wife, Carmen of Carlsbad, NM, Roberto Anaya of Santa Rosa, NM, Daniel Anaya and wife, Maria of Carlsbad, NM; two daughters: Hortencia Anaya of Carlsbad, NM, Theresa Olivo and husband, Ignacio of Carlsbad, NM; two granddaughters raised as daughters: Barbara Anaya of Jal, NM Maria Estela Anaya of Odessa, TX; seven grandchildren: Juan Javier Anaya, Christina Fields, Marita Anaya, Cesar Anaya, Luis Roberto Castillo, Jesus E. Anaya, Isaac Olivo; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Elena Anaya of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ignacio Olivo, Isaac Olivo, Juan J. Anaya, Cesar Daniel Anaya, Mara Anaya, Irene Fields. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
