Jessica J. Dennison

Jessica J. Dennison, 56, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. Jessica was born on March 20, 1967, in Carlsbad, NM to Jesse and Jewell Lester.

There will be a time to visit with the family from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Calvary Assembly Church with Pastor Phillip Price officiating. Interment will follow at the Carlsbad Cemetery.

Jessica grew up in Carlsbad, and graduated from the Carlsbad High School in 1985. She then went to college at CNM in Albuquerque, NM. After meeting the love of her life, Bryan Dennison, they got married on January 28, 1989. They then started their family having two wonderful children. Jessica worked over the years as a model while in college, then for Lakeview Christian Home, and as a teacher at the Cottage Preschool, before deciding to stay home and raising her children as well as other children throughout the years. She was known to be a wonderful cook, and her family has special memories of having her brownies and cookies, deviled eggs, and potato salad. She was also known to always start her mornings with a large glass of chocolate milk, as well as taking care of others with her extensive array of natural and herbal remedies. Jessica enjoyed listening to Elvis, loving her fur baby Daphne, and writing in notebooks where one page was a cooking recipe, the next her thoughts to herself, and then another outlining specific people and things that she would pray over that day. She was most definitely a prayer warrior, and was highly devoted to God and her faith. Her zill for life, the love she had for her family, and her faith combine together into the legacy she leaves behind her in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten. 

Jessica was preceded in death by her father, Jesse James Lester; mother, Jewell (Woolwine) Lester; two nephews, Michael Price and Alex Jordan; and parents-in-law, Web and Mary Dennison.

Jessica is survived by her husband, Bryan Dennison of Carlsbad, NM; two children: Tanishia Cho and husband, Will of Carlsbad, NM; and Andrew Dennison of Carlsbad, NM; five grandchildren: Lilly Cho, Ellie Cho, Aiden Luna, Lila Cho, and Caleb Dennison; four siblings: Debby Price of Rio Rancho, NM; Merna Davis and husband, Mark of Carlsbad, NM; Belinda Darling and husband, Gary of Carlsbad, NM; and Jesse James Lester and wife, Ina of Carlsbad, NM; sister-in-law, Sherry Dennison Murray; brother-in-law, Brad Dennison; best friend, Cara Pierce; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be: Andrew Dennison, Will Cho, Anthony Garcia, Ridge Darling, Robby Harris, JJ Lester, Justin Pierce, and Craig Bunch. Honorary pallbearers will be Aiden Luna and Caleb Dennison.
