Jerry Yochum

Jerry Yochum, 51, of Coleman Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, October 10, 2014 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2014, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brad Coates officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Jerry Yochum was born March 15, 1963, in Hicksville, Ohio to Frank and Ruth (Stahl) Yochum. He worked for the mines, ranching and was an all around handyman. He was fun-loving and the biggest jokester. Jerry was loving and kindhearted. He enjoyed hiking and walking trails. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward Yochum; father and mother-in-law, Alfonzo and Teresa Molinar and niece, April Trenary. Survivors are his fiance, Julie Reyes of Carlsbad, NM; son, Travis Yochum of Missouri; siblings: John Yochum of Harlingen, Texas, Francine Martin of Hicksville, Ohio, Bette Sue Johnson of Hicksville, Ohio, Frankie Yochum of Donna, Texas, Jim Yochum of Mesa, Arizona; stepsons: Steven Elsey of El Paso, Texas, James Elsey of El Paso, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brian Oney, Sam Soto, III, Tony Duran, Floyd Duran, Steve Talbott, Jim Yochum and Joey Fuson. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
