Jerry Duane West

Obituary Jerry Duane West was born in Levelland, Texas on May 25th, 1949. He passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2019. During his childhood, he moved around multiple places in western Texas with his family following oilfield jobs. He moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico on July 30, 1957. He married Carolyn Cobb on September 27, 1971. They had two children, Teresa and Elton. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, rebuilding and racing cars, and poker nights with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Eldon Cecil West; his mother, Vivian Beatrice West; his sister, Cecilia "Shorty" Robinson; his great-grandson, Nathan Bell; and his in-laws, J. D. and Gladys Cobb. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn West; his daughter, Teresa Shull; his son and daughter-in-law, Elton and Nicole West; six sisters, Patsy Menasco, Wanda Hatch, Norma Cunningham, Ozell Cunningham, Estell Wigley, and Terrie Smead; his grandchildren, Joshua Bell, Dakota Shull, Tori Shull, Brenna West, Greyson West, and Soren West; his great-grandchildren, Zachariah Bell, Deven York, Ethan Bell, Jaylynn Bell, Andy Shull, and Jaxon Shull; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, July 15, 2019, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Cremation will follow, and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July16, 2019, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
