Jerry "Condor" M. Armendarez

Jerry “Condor” M. Armendarez, 59, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Desert Spring Health Care, Hobbs, New Mexico. Jerry was born on July 10, 1962, in Carlsbad, NM to Jesus and Virginia Armendarez.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM-6:00 PM, Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A vigil will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday, April 28, 2022, 11:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating.  Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jerry M. Armendarez, best known as “Condor”, was born the oldest child of 7 to Jesus Armendarez and the late Virginia Armendarez. He was a “proud” and long-term resident of his neighborhood “San Jose”. Jerry dedicated his life to hard work for his family. Jerry was skilled with his hands doing construction and plastering numerous buildings, houses, and monuments around Carlsbad. When Jerry was not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting with his brothers, fishing, and going to the dog park with his side kick “Tez”. Those were just some of the things he enjoyed. Jerry was a father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, husband, friend and of course Primo. That’s who he was. Jerry was a kind and loving soul and would give his last dollar. He loved his family and lived for them.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Armendarez and brother, Jason Armendarez.

Survivors are his father: Jesus Armendarez, Sr.; oldest daughter, Sheree Armendarez; twins, Jasmine and Jerry Armendarez, Jr.; son, Jeremy Armendarez; ex-wife, Sherry Beachum; brothers: Jackie Armendarez and wife, Alva, of Carlsbad, Jesus Armendarez of Carlsbad; sisters: Vivian Valdez of Loving, Viola Gutierrez and husband, Fermin of Carlsbad; Vanessa Torres and husband, Rudy of Carlsbad; grandchildren: Trae, Zachariah, Jon, Kayden, Jaylene, Arieal and Aviana and lots of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Armendarez, Jesus Armendarez, II, Jeremy Armendarez, Tommy Martinez, Abel Castillo, Danny Munoz, Ruben Gonzalez and JoJo Florez.  Honorary pallbearers are Jonathan Armendarez, Michael Armendarez, Jesus Armendarez, III, Jerry Armendarez, Jr. and Cortez Campbell.
