Jerith A. Groves

Jerith A. Groves, 63, of Walterscheid Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at her home. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 22, 2016, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Land officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Jerith A. Groves was born November 3, 1953 in Hutchison, Kansas to Milton Porter and Dorcas Allegra (Hanks) Rhodes. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1971 and received a bachelor's degree in Psychology from NMSU. Jerith continued her education and earned a master's degree in Counseling. She worked for the State of New Mexico in Child Protective Services several years and later joined the family business at General Refrigeration Service. Jerith was an antique collector and enjoyed crafts. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Jerith was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors are her companion, David R. Lozano; daughters: Tabitha Wilson and Chelsey Groves; grandchildren: Garret Wilson and Patrick Wilson; brothers: Samuel Rhodes, David Rhodes and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mark Rhodes, Christy Youngblood, Revis Stroud, Shawn Mitchell, Chris Hill, Steve Lovell. Honorary pallbearer is Randy Rhodes. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
