Jeremy Shafer

Jeremy, also known as “Jay” passed away on September 9, 2024, at the age of 49 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He was born on January 27, 1975, in Clovis, New Mexico to Don & Sandra Shafer.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, September 20, 2024 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Jeremy stood by his unwavering faith in the Lord. No matter what trials or difficulties he faced, he held onto his belief in God's goodness and strengths as well as trying to live with the assurance that God was always by his side, and now, we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace in the arms of his Savior. 

He is survived by his mother: Sandra Shafer of Clovis, New Mexico; daughter, Kelsey Shafer of Portales, New Mexico; Four brothers and three sister- in law’s: Keith & Tamela Weddle of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Kevin & Tammy Shafer of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Brian & Laura Shafer of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Danny Shafer of Carlsbad New Mexico.

He also leaves behind six nephews: Garret Shafer, Justin Shafer, Joseph Shafer, Jaxtyn Shafer, Conrad Weddle, and Zach Mitchell. Including four nieces, Jacqueline, Weddle, Dakota DeWitt, Raven Weddle, Alyssa Shafer, and Danielle Shafer.
