Jennie "Kiki" Hepler

Jennie "Kiki" Hepler, 55, of West Pierce Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away April 17, 2011 at Lakeview Christian Home. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, April 20, 2011, Wednesday, at Lakeview Christian Home with Chaplain Terry McKean officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Jennie "Kiki" Hepler was born January 14, 1956 in Carlsbad, NM to Joe and Rose Marie (Jonas) Hepler Barnes. She worked for Springtime Cleaning, L & M Pizza and the Cortez Restaurant. She grew up on a ranch and loved horses and western movies. She was very independent until being diagnosed with ALS-Lou Gehrig's disease in 2009. She fought a hard fight. Kiki's hobbies included gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents and uncle, Rudy Jonas. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Lakeview Nursing Home staff and Lakeview Hospice Staff for all the love and care that she received. Also, a thank you to Marcie Cox for your loving support and caring so much! Survivors are her brother, Charlie Hepler of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Zella Hepler of Denver, Colorado; 3 nieces: Weslyn Hepler, Eryn Hepler, Charlene Hepler all of Carlsbad, NM; 3 aunts: Marla Risher and husband, Jim of Carlsbad, NM, Betty Jonas of Denver, Colorado, Nora Wright and husband, Buddy of Kennewick, Washington and uncle, Clifford Jonas and wife, Barbara of Houston, TX. Memorial contributions may be made to Lakeview Hospice, 1300 N. Canal Street, Carlsbad, NM 88220. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
