Jeffrey W. Manspeaker died suddenly July 14, 2010 at his home in Carlsbad. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, July 21, 2010, Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Pastor Randy C. Land officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home, 1001 N. Canal Street, is in charge of the arrangements. Jeffrey was born in Buffalo, NY on July 12, 1955. He was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He made his home in Amarillo, Texas for over 20 years. Jeffrey attended Atelier Art School in Amarillo. He received degrees in Art, Physics and Mechanical Engineering from Amarillo College and Texas A&M. He was preparing to attend Ross University in January, 2011, to become a veterinarian. His love was animals and his four dogs and cat were his children, as he was unmarried. His family and friends are saddened by his unexpected death "He was a good man" and loved by many. Jeff will be missed - "May he rest in the arms of Jesus" Jeffrey was a member of First Baptist Church of Carlsbad. He is survived by his parents William and Lee Manspeaker of Athens, Georgia; sister, Julie Lynn Essenberg and husband, Thomas of Montague, Michigan, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friend, Dr. Peter Roberts. He was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen S. Manspeaker in 1981. Donations may be to Noah's Ark Animal Shelter, 5212 Buena Vista, Carlsbad, NM 88220.
