J.E. Wilson

J.E. Wilson, 84, of S. 11th Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away January 5, 2025, at White Sands Nursing Home, Hobbs, NM.

Cremation will take place and services are pending.

J.E. was born July 26, 1940, in Carlsbad, NM to Chelsey and Mary (Nelson) Wilson. In the early years, he worked in the potash mines. J.E. later moved to Alamogordo where he and his brother-in-law, Elwood Lowe, built residential homes several years. He and his wife, Davina, worked at the High Nogal Ranch until moving to East Texas for their retirement years. They relocated to Carlsbad in 2017. J.E. enjoyed going to the senior center and attending church at Happy Valley Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Davina Wilson; daughters: Pam Tramell, Valarie Gonzalez; son, Russell Wilson; sisters: Teresa Schnieder, Margaret Lowe, and brother, Nelson Wilson.

Survivors are his children: Randy Wilson, Sherilyn McCollaum and husband, Ben, and James Preston Wilson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; brothers: Gene Wilson and wife, Della, Bobby Wilson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
