Janice Stroble, 85, of E. Plum Lane, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Lakeview Christian Home. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Denton-Wood Funeral Home and Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday July 13, 2023, at 10:00 am at Sunset Church of Christ with Cameron Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Janice Linda (Wray) Stroble was born on July 10, 1937, in Gilmer Tx. to James Corbett and Millie Iona Wray. She was the last of the 9 siblings. Janice graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1955. She worked for the State of New Mexico in various public service departments for most of her life until she retired in 1998.

Janice was preceded in death by both parents James and Millie and all of her siblings; Hauldes, Bob, Jim, Dorothy, Oscar, Randle, Jean, and Ronnie She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Russ and Carolyn; Johnny and Sondra; J.R. and Georgina; grandchildren; Casey and wife Merretta, Matt, Kendra and husband Nathan, Miranda, Dylan, Dalton and Carina. and great-grandchildren; Devin, Amelia, Nina, Chloe, Gideon and Dorian and several nieces and nephews. And we can’t forget her very best friend of 73 years, Peggy Titus.

She lived a strong and courageous life raising 3 boys mainly on her own and oh how she really loved all of her family. She is leaving behind a special legacy to all of her family. She is truly one of God’s angels.

The family would like to send a special thank you Lakeview Christian Home, nursing staff and Lakeview Home Health Care for their help with Mom, and also another special Thank You to Lakeview Hospice for their big hearts of care and kindness. We Love you and we will miss you Mom!
