Janette M. Lovell, 67, former resident, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at her home in Carlsbad, NM.
There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday, January 6, 2011, 10:00 AM, at Blodgett Street Baptist Church, 1500 West Blodgett Street, Carlsbad, NM, with Pastor David Prell, Chaplain Terry McKean and Pastor Dick Mears officiating.

Janette M. Lovell was born March 19, 1943 in El Paso, TX to Don C. and Jean M. (McClenahan) Turner. She attended school in Elk Grove, CA, La Poma, CA and College Park, CA. Janette graduated from Temple City High School in Temple City, CA, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Ramette's. Janette received her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California in Santa Barbara, CA. She served in the Peace Corp where she was stationed in the Philippines for two years. Janette earned her Master of Education at Antioch-Putney in Philadelphia. She began her teaching career in Washington, DC. Janette then moved to Santa Fe, NM, where she taught several years. She later taught school in Grants, NM and Kizer, OR. Janette went back to school while in Kizer and earned a Masters in Library Science. She worked as a librarian in Myrtle Point, OR for a number of years. Janette married Dorwin Lovell on May 9, 1981 on the Oregon coast. Dorwin and Janette then moved to Pendleton, OR where she continued teaching. Janette returned to school to get her Registered Nurse degree from Blue Mountain Community College. She worked as a nurse three years and realized she loved teaching so much that she returned to the classroom. In 1996 they moved to Coos Bay, OR, where Janette sold real estate for several years until retiring. Because of Janette's love for New Mexico, Dorwin and Janette moved permanently to Carlsbad earlier this year. She enjoyed camping, fishing and hiking and was a member of Blodgett Street Baptist Church. She attended Shoreline Community Church in North Bend, OR, where there will be a service at a later date. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, C. Dorwin Lovell; one-stepson, Mark Lovell and wife, Abby of Port Orchard, WA; two step-daughters: Marni Carter and husband, Drew of North Bend, OR, Wendi Hilgendorf and husband, Ron of Cottage Grove, OR; two grandchildren: Danny Lovell of Port Orchard, WA, Kassadee Hilgendorf of Cottage Grove, OR; brother, Douglas Turner of Sacremento, CA; niece, Julie Turner of Sacremento, CA and nephew, Jeremy Turner of Sacremento, CA.
