Jane Patchet

Jane Patchet, 77, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away August 10, 2022, with her family by her side.

Jane was born to Frank and Mary Schultz in Alamogordo, New Mexico on September 15, 1944. After graduating from high school, Jane attended New Mexico Tech where she was studying biology and met her husband of 57 years, Stan Patchet. Jane is survived by Stan as well as two sons, Ted (Patience) and Eddie (Veronica), a daughter-in-law Heidi, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles.

Jane was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She was an accomplished artist whose quilting, sewing and knitting prowess was known throughout the local area. Jane felt much joy in her art, especially when exploring new ideas or when helping others. Unbeknownst to many, Jane was also an excellent marksman, which she enjoyed demonstrating to family members during trips to the local range, and an avid online gaming enthusiast. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and volunteered at CASA where she strove to improve the well-being of abused and neglected children.

In keeping with Jane’s wishes there will be no funeral services. The family requests that people make donations to the Order of the Eastern Star Benevolent Fund, c/o Kathy Walker, Grand Secretary, PO Box 1209, Las Cruces, NM 88004-1209, in lieu of sending flowers.
