Jana Baiza Gonzalez

Jana Baiza Gonzalez, 45, of Normandy Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012, in Carlsbad. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, May 7, 2012, 10:30 AM, at First United Methodist Church, 207 N. Halagueno St., with Reverend Dan Boyd officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Jana Baiza Gonzalez was born on August 21, 1966, in Carlsbad, NM to Johnny Baiza, Sr. and Cecilia Villapando. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1984. Jana worked at CARC, Inc. while raising her children and caring for her father. She returned to school in 1991 to work on her nursing degree and graduated in 1996. During this time, Jana worked at Landsun Homes. She later also worked at Lakeview Christian Home and Guadalupe Medical Center. Jana cherished the time spent with her children and parents. She was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Baiza, Jr. Survivors are her children: Michael Martinez and Anna Martinez, Michelle Martinez, Ray Albert Gonzalez, Ariana Gonzalez, all of Carlsbad, NM; father, Johnny Baiza, Sr. of Carlsbad, NM; mother, Cecilia Villapando of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous extended familyCondolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
