Jan Spearman

Jan Spearman of Carlsbad, NM, passed away August 22, 2022 at her home.  Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel.

Jan was born in Lamesa, Texas to Alvis and Rudene (McClain) Mensch.  She married James Spearman, Jr., September 26, 1963.  Jan owned and operated Shape Up Fitness for several years until her grandchildren came along and she chose to dedicate time with them.  In later years, Jan worked as a prevention specialist with the Banana Splits Program.  After retiring, she enjoyed her grandkids’ many activities.  Jan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Spearman, Jr. and sister, Barbara Laney.

Survivors are her son, Damon Spearman and wife, Tara; daughters: Annette Barrick and husband, Craig, Jameie Wagner and husband, Travis; grandchildren: Hannah Spearman, Madeline Spearman, Chris Barrick and wife, Chelsea, Teisha Neumann and husband, Chet, Chloe Berdoza and husband, Jorden, Josh Beaver, Jaimi Wagner and Jake Wagner; great-grandchildren: Mattie, Caden, Abby, Miley, Maybre, Audrey, Phoebe and Clayson; brothers: Alvis Mensch, Jr. and wife, Sandy, Steve Mensch; brothers-in-law: Don Spearman, Keith Spearman, Gary Spearman and wife, Derenda; sister-in-law, Betsy Hood and husband, Wayne and numerous nieces and nephews.
