Jan King

Elna Janeyl “Jan” Waldrop King made her Heavenly departure today May 18, 2022 at the home of her son, William Roy King, Jr. and daughter-in-law Crystal (Lester) King. Her daughter, Kari and her sister, Debbie, as well as numerous grandchildren were with her until her rise to Heaven.

Jan was preceded in death by her beloved husband William “Bill” Roy King, Sr. in 2020, sister Lavada Jean (Waldrop) Solomon, sister Ola Bonetta “Bonnie” (Waldrop) Self and spouse Wylie Walton “Wally” Self, son -in-law Jeffrey Bruce Kincaid, Sr., her parents Wesley Bryan Waldrop, Sr. and Helen “Lavada” Lee (Robertson) Waldrop.

Jan was survived by one brother Wesley Bryan “Sonny” Waldrop, Jr. and spouse Maria of Louisiana, one sister Debra Leigh Waldrop and Mike Martin of Louisiana, one daughter Kari Leigh (King) Kincaid of Oklahoma, brother-in-law Gaylon R. Solomon of Little Elm, Texas. Grandchildren, Ian Bryan King, Kristopher Kyle King, Tessa Janelle (Kincaid) Brunson and spouse Charles Brunson, Jeffrey Bruce Kincaid, Jr. and spouse Jessica (Ford), 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jan was born December 4, 1936 in Abernathy Hale, County Texas, the third child of Wesley and Lavada.  She attended school in Abernathy.

Jan married Bill King August 16, 1952 in Midland, Midland County, TX

Jan was a long standing member of Beta Sigma Phi. Having served as president and everything in between.

Jan was a member of the First Assembly of God for 25 plus years.  She was a member of Dorcas, through the First Assembly of God Church.

Jan enjoyed crafting of all kinds. She loved to play pinochle as well as many other games. She loved to cook, and bake. She was always trying new recipes.

Jan and Bill were owners of Kings Furniture for over 10 years, on Canal and Church Streets in Carlsbad. Jan was a Tupperware dealer, as well as a Luzier representative for many years.

Jan was greatly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
