James Lewis Worley

James Lewis Worley, 72, went to be with Abba Father on Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 7:00 PM Friday, August 12, 2011 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 13, 2011, 10:00 AM, at New Song Christian Fellowship with Pastor John A. Burke officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. He was born July 6, 1939 to Lawrence Ray and Johnie Jerline (Hopper) Worley in Whitewright, TX. James was raised in Carlsbad and retired from SPS after 38 years of service. He loved serving the Lord and praying for people. James served as an Elder in the church for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and grandson, Danny Ray. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Worley of Carlsbad, NM; three sons: Ricky James Worley and wife, Jerri of Carlsbad, NM, Curtis Dewayne Worley of Carlsbad, NM, John Richard Worley and Jenny Collins of Carlsbad, NM; nine grandchildren: Jennifer, David and wife, Christine, Christopher, Crystal, T.J., Peggy, Spencer, Jade, Dalton G.; eight great-grandchildren: Scharmyne, Anthony, Doyle, Zoe, David, Dalton C., Sariah, Preston; two brothers, Kenneth Ray Worley and wife, Linda of Alsea, Oregon, Wayne Worley and wife, Carol of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Sue Grafton and husband, Jay of Monroe, LA and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David James Worley, Jerry Webb, Mario Vasquez, Manuel Anaya, J. C. Carter, Ricky Howard, Charlie Bunch and Robert Chavez. Honorary pallbearer is J R Jennings.
