Obituary
James Leo Tweedy, Jr. of 1405 W. Fox St, Carlsbad New Mexico was born August 21, 1959 to James and Imogene Tweedy in Carlsbad New Mexico. He passed away October 17, 2018 at Covenant Specialty Hospital in Lubbock, Texas.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, James and Imogene Tweedy of Carlsbad, grandson, Cody Smith of Carlsbad, grandson, Duce Ford of Carlsbad and great-granddaughters, Lily and Reagan Cox of Carlsbad.
He is survived by his loving wife, Treva Tweedy; his children: Dixie Carroll and children: Elisa, Christian, Aubri and Tharyn of Carlsbad New Mexico, James Tweedy and children: Elliot and James of Carlsbad, Chris Smith and wife, Sabrina their children: Chloe and Jayden of Carlsbad, Jamey Smith and wife, Kristy their children: Meagan and Dakotah of Leland, N.C., Kelli Bowen and husband, Bo their daughter, Tylan of Carlsbad; his brothers: Alan and Randy and sisters: Tresa and Sally; numerous great-grandchildren, aunts and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Leo was employed by Knox oilfield Supply in Orla, Texas for many years. He loved life and everything about it. Leo was a man of many trades and knew how to fix just about anything. He enjoyed bowling, hunting of all types, fishing, playing video games and spending time with his family.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no services. The family will be hosting a gathering on Saturday, November 10th at 3:00 p.m. at the Carlsbad Riverwalk Recreation Center, 400 Riverwalk Drive, in the banquet room upstairs. Friends and family are encouraged to stop by to share a story or two about Leos life.
