Obituary
James Albert Patton, 97, of W. Cherry Lane, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away April 25, 2018 at Goodlife Assisted Living, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM 7:00 PM, Monday, April 30, 2018 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Fox and Lake Church of Christ with Dr. James Jones, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
James Albert Patton was born on April 28, 1920 in Danville, Arkansas. His family moved to New Mexico when he was a young man and he spent more than 70 years living in Carlsbad. He served his country in the Navy in WWII on two aviation supply ships. James worked at PCA for more than 30 years, and had a medical retirement at age 60. He loved fishing, hunting and walking the hills looking for treasures with his beloved wife, Jackie. James read the Bible every morning after he became a Christian and attended worship at Fox and Lake Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Lou Patton, his grandson, Jared Alan Patton, and his 4 sisters and a brother. Survivors are his daughter, Jackie Elaine Sullivan and husband, Perry of Tucson, AZ, his son, James Albert Patton, Jr. and wife, Jean, two grandchildren: Yvonda Lea Sullivan and Perry Lee Sullivan, Jr. of Tucson, AZ and a brother, Carl Wayne Patton of Visalia, CA.
