James "Jim" W. Parker

James W. "Jim" Parker, 76, of Solana Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012, at his home. Visitation will be Monday, July 23, 2012, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 24, 2012, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phillip Price officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery, Hobbs, New Mexico, at 2:00 PM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. James W. "Jim" Parker was born on September 6, 1935, in Kernes, Texas to Walter Thomas and Inez (McGlaun) Parker. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Jim enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and being with his beautiful wife, Pauline. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan and a former member of The Masonic Lodge and BPOE-Elks Lodge. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pauline Parker in March 2012; and brothers: Frank Parker and Jerry Parker. Survivors are his sons: Tony Parker and Larry Glenn Parker and wife, Kelly all of Carlsbad, NM; daughter: Sabrina Parker and partner Mona Cleveland of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren: James Brandon Parker, Tanzi Parker, Damien Parker and Tiffany Parker; seven great-grandchildren; sisters: Joan Hines and Betty Moreland, both of Midland, Texas; and brother, Kenneth Parker of Kansas.
