James H. McCarthy, III

James H. McCarthy, III was born January 29,1939, in Ithaca NY. He passed away on January 13, 2014, in San Marcos, CA. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be local no services. Interment will take place in a family plot in Ithaca later this spring. Jim loved the time spent in the Navy. He devoted his adulthood to serving the Disabled American Veterans organization, serving proudly as President & Commander of San Diego County. Jim is survived by his four children: son, James H. (JH) & wife, Elisabeth of Germany; daughters: Mary Teresa (Terri) of WA, Frances Anne (Fran) of Carlsbad, NM, and Maria Bernadette (Bernie) of NH; two grandsons: Josey & Jordan, both of WA as well as great-granddaughter, Jazmine. He is also survived by his long time companion, Marion (Mae) Davidson, and neighbors, Angie Stanich and Don McGuire, who were also his caregivers.
