Jake Wright

Jake Wright, 29, of Sandy Lane, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Memorial services is scheduled for Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 10:00 AM, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Garry Schwalk officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangement. Jake Wright was born September 2, 1991 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Aaron Loftis and Becky Wright. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2010. Jake played many sports throughout school. He excelled in football, track and wresting during high school. Jake graduated from Eastern New Mexico State where he played football and enjoyed rugby he also played semi pro football for several years. Jake was an avid outdoorsman never turning down the opportunity to hunt, fish and camp. Most importantly, he put his family above all else and was a amazing father to Rickie. Survivors are wife: Chimene Wright; son: Rickie Wright; mother: Becky Wright and Daniel Higgins; father: Aaron Loftis and wife Amy; grandparents: Rickie and Leta Wright; great-grandparents: Pac and Bobbi Nance; siblings: Sadie Thompson, Nick Twaddle, Gadge Little, Caleb and Malachi Williams, Austin Waldon, Aubrey Loftis, Adler Loftis, Logan Betzen, Trevor Betzen, Rylee Holcomb, Madison Yarger and Sarah Wright; aunt; Missy Wright and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his KAPPA Sigma brothers.
