Jacqulin Rue "Jackie" Patton
Jacqulin "Jackie" Rue Patton, went peacefully home to be with her Lord, on Friday, April 5, 2013, at Carlsbad Medical Center. She was born June 22, 1939, in Plainview, Texas, to Clara Helen Castleberry, and Robert Carl Austin, Sr. She was active in church, work and baking her bread to sell to local friends and businesses. Jacqulin met the love of her life Richard Patton in Flagstaff, Arizona in 1957. They married in Las Vegas, Nevada, February 26, 1958. She loved everyone and liked to play dominoes. She moved to Carlsbad in 1962. She attended Apostolic Bible Church in Roswell. Jacqulin was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Richard Grant Patton, two brothers Butch and Danny Austin, and sister, Sally Burnette. She is survived by sons; Rodney Patton and wife, Ella Mae of Flagstaff, Arizona, Ricky "Plow" Patton, and Robert "Kemo" Patton of Carlsbad; daughters: Marla Watson of Flagstaff, and Maudie Patton of Carlsbad; two brothers: Steven Austin and wife, Gloria of Roswell, and Mike Austin and wife, Connie of Carlsbad, and two sisters: Nancy Williams and husband, Jack of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and Helen Alexander and husband, Bill of Carlsbad; six grandsons, four granddaughters, and two great grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 5:30 Monday, April 15, 2013 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Land and Pastor Rodrick Foster presiding. Interment has taken place in Flagstaff, Arizona. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
