Jack Dempsey French, 83, of 507 N. 7th St., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at his home.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, March 27, 2013, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis W. McKinley officiating.
Interment will be at 2:00 PM, Monday April 1, 2013 in Myrtle Memorial Cemetery, Winnsboro, Louisiana with Paul Perry officiating.

Jack Dempsey French was born May 22, 1929 to J. W. and Addie (Butler) French. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and playing the guitar. Jack worked in the oilfield most of his life and later he was in maintenance with the YMCA before his retirement. He always enjoyed people wherever he lived and was often heard saying, "Let me tell you about the time when I was your age...". The saying goes "Roughnecks never die, they just drill dry holes." He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lena Lorena Dean French; second wife, Rudy French and brother, J. D. French.
He is survived by six children: Don French and wife, Virginia of Cisco, Texas, Sammie French and wife, Donna of Carlsbad, NM, Jackie French of Portland, OR, Linda Strange of Carlsbad, NM and Debbie Reedy and husband, Jim of Carlsbad, NM, Tommy French and wife, Joetta of Yhcolt, WA, 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; twin brother, George French of West Monroe, LA, sister, Juanita Turnag of Delhi, LA and several neices and nephews.
