Jack Fleming, 70, of North Howard Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, December 20, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 21, 2013, 10:00 AM, at Blodgett Street Baptist Church with Pastor David Prell officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Jack Fleming was born on December 16, 1942, in Carlsbad, NM to Martin Van Buren and Margaret (Lair) Fleming. He was involved at the CARC Farm for years where he worked in the cafeteria and greenhouse. Jack was named the New Mexico Special Olympian of the Year. He ran the snack stand at the Eddy County Courthouse for many years. Jack was a long time member of the Blodgett Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mart and Margaret Fleming.
Survivors are brother, William C. Fleming and wife, Cathy of Carlsbad, NM; sisters: JoAnn Harris and husband, Dick of Hahnville, LA, Sue Scott and husband, Jerry of Turlock, CA, Carol Romey of Middleton, ID, Patricia Hackney and husband, Hack of Albuquerque, NM, Mary Katherine Fleming of Sacramento, CA, Jerrie Ruth Lawrence and husband, John of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers are Rick Salness, Homer Freeman, Justin Hogue, Jeramie Hogue, Mike Lawrence and Brad Powell.
