Isis Contreras, 72, of Coleman Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away July 12, 2021 at University Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas.
Visitation will be 2 PM – 6:30 PM, Monday, July 19, 2021 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A vigil will be held at 6:30 PM, Monday, July 19, 2021 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Isis was born September 14, 1948 in Artesia, NM to Luis and Juliana (Baeza) Rodriquez. She graduated from Carlsbad High School. Isis married Andres Contreras June 13, 1970. She worked for Carlsbad Schools in the cafeteria over 30 years. Isis enjoyed fishing, cooking and casinos, but most of all spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Abel and Dames Rodriquez; sisters: Lorina Angel, Juanita Gonzalez, Rita Sapien and Rosa Gonzalez.
Survivors are her husband, Andres Contreras; daughters: Rebecca Contreras and Corinna Carey; grandchildren: Ryan, Eric, Adrian and Bryon; great-grandchildren: Arabella, Estrea, Bailey and Harmony; sister, Rachel Sapien and husband, Domingo and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Prescilla Melendrez, David Fierro, Adrian Contreras, Ryan Contreras, Eric Morales and Lucretia Porras. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
