Ina L. "Sissy" Green, 97, of W. Pierce Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away August 21, 2009 at Lakeview Christian Home.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services with interment were held Saturday, August 22, 2009, 2:00 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Chaplain Terry McKean officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Sissy was born November 10, 1911 to John William Baker and Ida May (Williams) Baker in Millsap, TX. She grew up on a farm and attended school to the seventh grade. Sissy worked on the farm and in the cotton fields. She then met and married Barney Green, after her son was born she returned to farm work. Sissy worked in Odessa, TX in a laundry. She lived in California for 15 years and did field and farm work. Sissy retired and moved to Carlsbad in 1973. She enjoyed yard work, flowers, houseplants, animals and pets. Sissy was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, son J.B. Green, two brothers Edwin Baker and Floyd W. Baker and one sister Ethel Horn.
She is survived by one nephew, Bob Horne and wife, Jonnie of Lubbock, Texas, and one niece, Sue Coppersmith and husband, Earl of Granbury, Texas.
