Imelda C. Rodriguez, 66, of Hill Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, went to be with the Lord Monday, December 5, 2016. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, December 9, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. An Evening Service is scheduled for Friday, December 9, 2016, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John A. Burke officiating. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, December 10, 2016, 1:00 PM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Cordero officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Imelda C. Rodriguez was born June 19, 1950 in Carlsbad, NM to Raul M. and Cleo Olivas (Carrasco) Rodriguez. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1969 and received a bachelor's degree from NMSU in education. Melda taught school in Las Cruces 17 years. She enjoyed traveling and lived in several countries before returning home to Carlsbad. Melda was an avid photographer and quilter. She loved going to movies but most of all spending time with family. Melda gave her heart to the Lord in 2015 and regularly studied the word. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cleo C. Rodriguez and brothers: Ernest and Daniel Rodriguez. Survivors are her father, Raul M. Rodriguez of Carlsbad, NM; sisters: Yolanda Anaya and husband, Sal of Carlsbad, NM, Rosaline Madrid and husband, Robert of Las Cruces, NM; brothers: Arnold Rodriguez and wife, Kathleen, Benny Rodriguez, Alonzo Rodriguez, Alvin Rodriguez and wife, Brenda and Raul Rodriguez, Jr., all of Carlsbad, NM; nieces and nephews: Stephanie Rodriguez and husband, Michael, Johnny Joe Muoz, Antoinette Hernandez, Daniel Madrid and wife, Valeria, Stephen Madrid and wife, Sheena, Melissa Rodriguez, Aileen Rodriguez, Valerie Rodriguez, Giovonni Rodriguez, Liana Rodriguez, Briana Rodriguez, Jennifer Burns and husband, Jon, Jamie Renteria and husband, Robert and numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
