Ima Jean Dawson

Ima Jean Dawson, 71, of N. 8th Street, Loving, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 17, 2012, 10:00 AM, at Loving Baptist Church with Pastor Dick Means officiating. Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ima Jean Dawson was born June 28, 1941 in Loving, New Mexico to Floyd and Ellen B. (Baker) Mason. She was raised in Loving. Jean enjoyed her children, watching her grandchildren play sports, playing card and just quiet family time. She also liked yard work. Jean was a member of Loving Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Bobbie Tiller and Geneva Smith. Survivors are three children: Jan Odell Mason and wife, Faye of Loving, NM, Cindy LeAnn Oakes and husband, Harold of Ruidoso, NM, Chad Wandale Sartin of Carlsbad, NM; brother, James Laudell Mason and wife, Sherrill of Anthony, NM; six grandchildren: Destiny Hixon, Kirsten Oakes, Damian Oakes, Whitney Sartin, Chaz Sartin and Ashlen Sartin and two great-grandchildren: RaeLeigh Jade Oakes and Lorelai Nicole Hixon. Pallbearers will be Jan Odell Mason, Chad Wandale Sartin, Floyd Tiller, Joe Tiller, Kent Tiller, Lloyd Tiller and Chaz Sartin. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
