Ignacio "I. G." Vasquez

Ignacio "I.G." Vasquez, 90, of Carrasco Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Landsun Homes. Cremation will take place and there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Stephanie Harmon officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ignacio "I. G." Vasquez was born November 19, 1924 in Ysleta, Texas to Antonio and Elauteria (Gomez) Vasquez. He married Evangelina Villalobos on August 25, 1945 in Clint, Texas. He drove a bus for Lower Valley Bus Lines for several years. They moved to Otis in 1951 where I. G. has farmed for 64 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and a sister. Survivors are his wife, Evangelina Vasquez of Otis, NM; children: Alfred Vasquez and wife, Virginia of Tucson, AZ, Dianna Lee and husband, Mac of Helena, MT, Howard Vasquez and wife, Beth of Carlsbad, NM, Denise Pursell and husband, Charles of Austin, TX; grandchildren: Julie Nunis, Jill Foley, Nicole Quintana-Vasquez; 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
