Ida Fry

Ida Louise Fry nee Runyon, 93, of West Pierce Street, Carlsbad, NM, died in her sleep early the morning of October 10, 2013 at Lakeview Christian Home. Visitation will be held 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Fox and Lake Church of Christ. Chaplain Terry McKean will officiate. Cremation will take place after the service. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ida was born at the very beginning of the roaring twenties in Mansville, OK on January 29, 1920 to Andrew and Addie Runyon nee McNeely, 8 months before the 19th amendment was passed. She lived through the Great Depression and her family helped other families during that rough time. Generosity and helping the less fortunate is a value she held throughout her life and passed along to many in her family. She worked in personal care as a medical aid for many years and volunteered in ministering to incarcerated individuals. She enjoyed staying active in her church at Fox and Lake. She took joy in the many friendships she developed and nurtured there over the years. She loved reading, crafting, drawing, traveling and singing the church hymns. She mothered seven children, fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was supremely proud to see the fifth generation of her family, her great-great-grandson Mason, during her lifetime. The love for her family only came second to her love of God. She was full of love, her legacy is love. Ida was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; first husband William Deboard Sr.; second husband, Louie Fry; sons: William Deboard, Jr. and Harrison Fry; daughters: Linda Fry and Sandra L. Fry; and grandson, Robert King. She is survived by her children: Charles "Andy" Fry and wife, Faye, JoAnn King and Louie "Danny" Fry and wife, Sue all of Carlsbad; grandchildren: Danny King and wife, Tiffany, Charles Fry, Charmaine Fry, Misty Klug and husband, Gary, Michael Rickabough and wife, Tonya, Mitzi Cargo and husband, Dayton, Jennifer Saiz and husband, Sam, Kevin Fry and wife, Nikki, Samantha Stoltzfus, Dustin Stoltzfus and wife, Dora, Cindy Stoltzfus and partner, Zena, Dedra Cook and husband, Patrick, and Mendi Acosta; great-grandchildren: Lilly and Robert King, Sandra M. Fry, Bobbie Bailey and husband, Nick, Max Kennedy, Jayden Rickabough, Vale and Violet Cargo, Mckenzie Stoltzfus, and Teddy and Austin Duff; and great-great-grandson, Mason Fry. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, honorary family members and several dear friends. Pallbearers will be Danny King, Samantha Stoltzfus, Dustin Stoltzfus, Cindy Stoltzfus, Gary Klug, Kyeemo Granger, Patrick Duff and Nick Bailey.
