Obituary Henry H. Walker, 86, of Southwind Road, passed away August 19, 2019 at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 9:30 AM, Friday, August 23, 2019 at Cavern Baptist Church with Pastor Dick Means officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Henry was born September 18, 1932 in Carlsbad, NM to Walter Edward and Edna Emma (Bonine) Walker. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict receiving a purple heart. Henry married Billie Jean Teague February 15, 1958 here in Carlsbad. Henry has been described by many as the toughest man they ever met. Not only was he tough but had a balance of strength and compassion. Henry helped shape many men and often served as a role model. He loved his family unconditionally and taught them to love the same, which built one of the tightest families around. He left a legacy and will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billie J. Walker; brothers, Johnnie Warren and Ab and Amos Walker. Survivors are his daughters: Sheryl Lowrey and husband, John of Carlsbad, NM, Terri Michael and husband, Gary of Carlsbad, NM; son, Clay Walker and wife, Tammie of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Amanda Lowrey, Leslie Wiggins and husband, Robin, Cody Lewis, David Lewis, Brad Lewis, Dustin Walker, Kortney Bryant and husband, Shawn and Emmy Jean Walker; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers: Allen Walker of Carlsbad, NM, Walter Squab Walker and Mary of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Minerva Lewis of Weatherford, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Clay Walker, Dustin Walker, Cody Lewis, David Lewis, Brad Lewis, Tater Sanders, Trustin Munson, and Chris Clifton.
