Obituary Helen Mitchell, 98, of Carlsbad, NM made her heavenly journey on May 19, 2020, at Lakeview Christian Home. Helen was born on November 21, 1921, in Wichita Falls, TX to Jessie and Johnnie Fox. Helens parents told their pastor that they would keep the next evangelist that was to hold the next revival at church, and keep them they did as Helen married the next evangelist Rev. Aubuary R. Mitchell in 1940. Helen spent her life as a ministers wife pastoring churches in Texas and New Mexico until they retired and returned to Carlsbad in 1987. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Aubuary Mitchell, her son, Jessie Mitchell, her father and mother, Jessie and Johnnie Fox, her sister Kathrane Rose and her son-in-law Craig Vandenberg. She is survived by brother Billy Fox, her children Aubuary Paul Mitchell and wife Linda, Kathleen Allison and husband Larry, Judy Vandenberg, her grandchildren Jeffery Mitchell and wife Leota, Cindy Wilson and husband Andy, Michell Carlson and husband Jerry, Heather Burrington and husband Todd, Barry Allison, Melanie Brantley, Marcia Allison, Mandi Cox and husband Clay and Christopher Clepper and wife Ana, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Helen has faced many different things in life including the great depression and our current Covid-19 pandemic. Due to the social distancing, we hope to hold a Celebration of Life in her honor in the near future which we will announce when we can finally gather together in large groups once again.
