Helen M. Porter, 92, of Westridge Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 at Landsun Homes.
There will be no local services.

Helen M. Porter was born February 1, 1920 in Dayton, Pennsylvania to Charles C. and Edith C. (Leopold) Radaker. She graduated from Dayton, PA High School and earned her B.S. from Indiana State University and a Master's Degree from Penn State University in Art and Education. She married William J. Porter on August 27, 1946 in Dayton, Pennsylvania. Helen loved to read and enjoyed traveling and going out to eat. She loved anything to do with art. Helen often won "Best of Show" with her oil paintings. She was a member of Carlsbad Art Guild. Helen served her country in the US Marines. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband 1990; four sisters: Grace Radaker, Gertrude Martin, Josephine Barton and Mildred Fuszek.
She is survived by nephews and nieces.
