Helen H. McCroskey, 71, of Hamilton Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away November 23, 2015 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Helen H. McCroskey was born December 28, 1943 in Albuquerque, NM to Clarence Prater and Audrey (Coffer) Heston. She lived in Mountainair, NM until moving to Lone Pine, California. She returned to New Mexico as a teenager and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1961. Helen worked at IMC. She married Bill McCroskey and they moved to Las Cruces where Helen worked for NMSU as a secretary in the engineering department for 3 years. In 1969, they moved back to Carlsbad. She and Bill had one son, Steven. She worked at Otis Co-Op, The Bookstore and Crew's Glass as a secretary/bookkeeper. Helen and Bill owned and operated Roadrunner Liquor in Loving, NM from 1983 - 1987. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, word puzzles, family vacations, deer hunting and spending time with their dogs. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Audrey Heston and brother, Stan Heston.
Survivors are her husband, Bill McCroskey of Carlsbad, NM; son, Steven W. McCroskey and wife, Christine of Carlsbad, NM; granddaughter, Deanna Balla; niece, Roxie Rosales and nephew Stanley Heston, both of Texas.
