Helen C. Patterson

Helen Patterson, a resident of Landsun Homes, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 29.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Epworth Methodist Fellowship (1406 West Blodgett, Carlsbad, NM).

Helen Patterson was born January 30, 1930 in Bayard, Nebraska.  She grew up there until 1949 when she married John Patterson, a civil engineer. They moved to Pittsburgh, PA where they lived for 34 years.  In 1985, they moved to Carlsbad, NM when construction began on the WIPP project.

Helen was a member of P.E.O. and the Epworth Methodist Fellowship.

She was an active volunteer with Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, the Community Concert Series, Landsun Homes, the Hospital Auxiliary, and Deliver-a-meal during her life in Carlsbad.

Her husband, John died in June 2008.  She is survived by son Paul Patterson (Baji), daughter Sue Barlett (Doug), two grandchildren (Kevin (Suzanne) and Janet), and great-granddaughter Grace.
