Hector Torres, 47, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home followed by a vigil at 6:00 PM with Deacon Melvin Balderrama officiating.

Hector was born March 6, 1978 in Bronx, New York to Hector and Josefina (Lopez) Torres. He received an associate’s degree from the University of Maryland. He served his country in U.S. Army. Hector married Fabiola Hernandez December 11, 2015 in Colorado Springs, CO. He worked for the Malaga Post Office several years. Hector worked for Loving Schools, coaching cross country and track, also serving as the maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed working out and was conscientious about his health and fitness. Hector often went hiking with his two dogs: Atticus and Lucius. He was active at Cristo Rey Catholic Church where he served as a lector.

Hector’s passion in life was toward helping others. His desire was always to help and support those he met, and encouraged others to always do their best. He was driven by his love for God and family. Hector’s words of wisdom was always: “Seek God First”

Survivors are his wife, Fabiola Torres; son, Luis Ezequiel Torres; parents: Hector and Josefina Torres; sisters: Brenda Torres and husband, Jesus Santiago, Nancy Alvarez and husband, Carlos, and numerous nieces and nephews.
