Hazel M. West

Hazel M. West, 94, of Westridge Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at Landsun Health Services Center. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, 2014, 10:30 AM, at Twin Oaks Cemetery, Artesia, NM with Rev. Don Johnston officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home, 1001 N. Canal Street, Carlsbad, NM, is in charge of the arrangements. Hazel M. West was born June 12, 1919 in Foreman, Arkansas to Harv and Pearl (Welch) Young. She loved to dance. Hazel was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Artesia. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy West; daughter-in-law, Suzanne West; two brothers; four sisters and several nieces and nephews. Survivors are son, Bobby West of Artesia, NM; granddaughter, Sammi Troublefield and husband, Larry of Artesia, NM; grandsons: Aaron Brown of Artesia, NM, Blane Brown of Shallowater, Texas; great-grandsons: Brayden Brown, Cason Brown, Jaxx Brown; great-granddaughter, Marin Paschal and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
