Hazel Durr

Hazel Bell (Wood) Durr journeyed to her eternal home on June 24, 2017. She passed away in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Hazel was born August 2, 1933 in Coushatta, Louisiana to Barnett Olis and Ruby Gertrude Wood and attended school in Coushatta, LA. She married Herbert Alton Durr on December 9, 1948 at Harmon Baptist Church in Red River Parish in Coushatta, LA. Hazel loved her Lord and raised her family to know God. Her Lord and her family were the two most important things in her life. She was an avid cook and she loved to crochet before dementia took both of those from her. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Alton Durr. Hazel has six children: daughter Elaine Durr of Ringold, LA., son Kenneth and wife, Charla of Amarillo, TX., son Robert and wife, Pam Durr of Carlsbad, NM., son Leon and wife, Linda of Carlsbad, NM., daughter Julia and husband, Mike Porter of Carlsbad, NM., and son David Durr of Carlsbad, NM. Hazel was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Ajax Cemetery in Ajax, Louisiana.
