Haven Hatfield

Haven Hatfield, 85, of E. Chapman Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Lakeview Christian Home. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, April 21, 2017 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Haven Hatfield was born October 9, 1931 in Vulcan, West Virginia to George W. and Rosie (Vance) Hatfield. He worked for the City of Flagstaff many years before retiring and moving to Carlsbad. Haven was very active in the church being a member of the Flagstaff Church of Christ and more recently Southside Church of Christ here in Carlsbad. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Goldie M. Hatfield; son, Reno Hatfield; brothers: Elias Hatfield, John Hatfield, Grover Hatfield and Oval Hatfield; sisters: Easter Hatfield and Elanore Hatfield. Survivors are his son, Rex Hatfield and wife, Phyllis of Hemet, California; grandchildren: Tessa and Jeff Hatfield; sisters: Rhodena Pack and Mary Lee Hatfield; nieces: Donna Davis and Jan Terpening and several great nieces and nephews.
