Harold James Sisk ‘Sisko’, 80, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away on September 15, 2024 upon God’s perfect timing. His homecoming was declared at 12:41 pm where he was brought home by the hand of God and reunited with the love of his life, Lorena Sisk. ‘Sisko’ was born on June 12, 1944 in Walla Walla, Washington. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and a devoted friend, especially to his hunting and fishing buddies.

Harold was hard-working and dedicated. He spent 35 years working in the mining industry for IMC Kalium, where he held many positions before his well-earned retirement. He was well known for his skills in construction as well as leading his ‘team’ in accomplishing the tasks on time and under budget. Harold also served in the United States Military in the Army infantry for 4 years. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions, friends, and being outdoors.

Though ‘Sisko’ may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of service and love honored. He was a man of integrity, kindness, generosity, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Harold’s hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, welding, and spending time with this family and friends, often spending his weekends helping anyone who needed a fence repaired, trucks or boats worked on, etc. His love for helping and teaching was something he shared with his brothers, sister, daughter, step daughters and grandchildren, leaving a mark on all of us that will never fade.

Preceded in death by his wife Lorena Sisk, his father B.F. (Frank) Sisk, his mother Laura Cranford Sisk-Sargent and his brother Frankie Sisk.

He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Sisk and husband, Adrian Cano; step-daughters: Linda Wilson and husband, Clay and Tammy Hawley and husband, Greg; step-son, Cory Warren; grandchildren: Hunter Warren, Wyatt Warren, and Emmarie Warren; siblings: Charles Sisk and wife, Sue, Bennie Sisk and wife, Sue, Laurene Sisk Dunn and husband, Bill, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Carlsbad Cemetery Gazebo.

We find comfort in knowing that Harold's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.

Many thanks to his personal caregivers Isabel Venegas and Sylvia Saiz, and Good Life in Carlsbad, New Mexico for providing the comfort and care to Harold during his final years. Harold wish is that all memorials be sent to a favorite charity especially those that assist our military veterans.

Pallbearers will be Craig Hutchison, Greg Hawley, Clay Wilson, Hunter Warren, Blaine Rennie, Adrian Cano and Buddy Sisk.
