Guadalupe “Lupe” H. Garcia, age 92, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024. He was born March 15, 1932 to Simona Hererra and Manuel Garcia.

Visitations will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Oasis Church with Pastor Gabe Rubio officiating. Interment will take place at Santa Catarina Cemetery.

He loved music, he would listen to his favorite music for hours and he just loved to dance. He was great at card games and enjoyed going to the casino. He had a ‘green thumb’ and could make any tree or vegetable grow. His favorite food was chili rellenos and all kinds of fish and his favorite drinks were coffee and a cold Pepsi. He would have such fond memories of California as a young man newly married, he loved going fishing anywhere there were fish. Later he moved to Glendale AZ and retired from Glendale Community College, but he did return to his roots in Carlsbad NM. Here he enjoyed gardening and he always loved to put on a great BBQ. He loved watching wheel of fortune and old western shows whenever he had a chance. His favorite season was always football season. He loved his little snacks and would always eat everything with a knife and fork. He had such great style in fashion. When he got dressed, he always loved wearing nice clothes and nice shoes as well as flashy watches. He was so classy yet so humble. He was a friend to all who knew him. 

Lupe was survived by wife Margaret Goben; daughter, Sally Molina and husband Ralph Molina; Grandchildren: Sonia Gordon and husband Craig, Anthony Molina and wife Billie, Gabe Garcia and partner Veronica Obregon, Mary Garcia, Priscilla Garcia and partner Marcos Hernandez, Jessie Garcia and wife Mary, Celina Garcia and partner Randy Peters; Great-Grandchildren: Angel Ramirez, Alicia Garcia, Gabriel Garcia Jr., Christian Garcia, Larissa Slack, Ezekiel Garcia, Jesse Garcia, Mia Garcia, Marrissa Garcia, Johnathan Garcia, Abrianna Hernandez, Tiffany Hernandez; Great- Great Grandchildren, Giovanni Olivas, Zelda Ramirez, and Delilah Garcia.

Lupe is preceded in death by mother, Simona Hererra; father, Manuel Garcia; first wife, Ervenia Garcia; son, Robert Garcia; grandson, Robbie Garcia, great-grand daughter, Andrea Garcia; one brother and three sisters.

Pallbearers: Gabe Garcia, Jessie Garcia, Anthony Maldonado, David Griego, Rogelio Ybarra, Arjay Ybarra.
