Guadalupe C. Duran, 89, of West Rose Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away August 23, 2015 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
A Vigil is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, 2015, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday, August 27, 2015, 10:30 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Martin Cordero officiating.
Interment will follow in Santa Catarina, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.

Guadalupe C. Duran was born November 23, 1925 in Loving, New Mexico to Edwardo C. and Teresa (Carrasco) Duran. He served his country in the US Army during WWII where he was stationed in England and Germany receiving a victory medal. Guadalupe married Consuelo Rubio on September 20, 1947. He worked for United Salt Corporation where he retired after 40 years of service. Guadalupe enjoyed fishing, hunting and boxing but most of all he loved being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Consuelo Duran; daughters: Elise Duran, Terry Navarrete, Olga Medina; sons: Daniel, Ruben and David Duran.
Survivors are daughters: Nancy Lopez and husband, Frank of Carlsbad, NM, Yolanda Sing of Carlsbad, NM, sons: Rudy Duran and wife, Rentia of Albuquerque, NM, Michael Duran and wife, Rosie of Van Horn, TX, Gerald Duran and wife, Linda of Tempe, AZ; 28 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Duran, Jesse Duran, Jeremy Medina, Michael Ray Duran, Danny Ramos and Joe Navarrete.
