Gonzalo H. Balderrama

Gonzalo H. Balderrama, 82, of North Third Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away August 26, 2010 at his home. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Monday, August 30, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Monday, August 30, 2010, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church, 1002 DeBaca. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, August 31, 2010, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Covn., officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Gonzalo H. Balderrama was born January 10, 1928 to Jose Antonio and Beatrice (Hernandez) Balderrama in Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a good hardworking man and a good father. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter. He is survived by his wife, Eva Balderrama of Carlsbad, NM; five sons: Gonzalo Balderrama, Jr. and wife, Gloria of Rio Rancho, NM, Richard Balderrama of Carlsbad, NM, Mando Balderrama of Tucson, AZ, Roy Balderrama of Tucson, AZ and Rogelio Balderrama of Carlsbad, NM; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Sabien of California and additional brothers and sisters residing in Mexico. Pallbearers will be Tommy Balderrama, Jeremiah Balderrama, Jimmy Balderrama, Rocky Balderrama, Amos Balderrama, Rico Balderrama, David Lujan, John Methola and Ramon Ramos.
