Gloria Lujan Hernandez

Gloria Lujan Hernandez, 58, of Georgia Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, went home with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, September 3, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 4, 2010, 10:00 AM, at First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Brad Coates officiating. Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Gloria Lujan Hernandez was born September 30, 1951 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Cecillo H. and Paula S. (Barraza) Lujan. She grew up in Malaga and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1970. Gloria married her high school sweetheart, Victor Gaspar Hernandez on December 7, 1968 in Carlsbad. She was employed at K-Mart for over 20 years, where she managed the layaway department. Gloria enjoyed walking and swimming and had a strong will to overcome challenges in her life. Gloria was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed cooking, scrapbooking, quilting and was actively involved with her church. She was dedicated to studying the Bible and most importantly spreading God's work to others especially her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Victoria Inez Hernandez; brother, Adan R. Lujan. Survivors include her husband, Victor G. Hernandez of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Patsy Carrasco and husband, Orlando of Carlsbad, NM; two sons: Orlando Hernandez and wife, Karen of Phoenix, AZ, Victor John Hernandez and Monica Kline of Phoenix, AZ; 6 grandchildren: Daniel Hernandez, Orlando "Tito" Carrasco, II, Gabriel Carrasco, Lance Hernandez, Tatiyana Hernandez and Orlando "O. J." Hernandez; eight siblings: Fernando Lujan of Phoenix, AZ, Leonardo Lujan of Phoenix, AZ, Epifania Tercero of Goshen, CA, Cande Hernandez of Visalia, CA, Tony Lujan and wife, Katy of Las Cruces, NM, Martina Molinar and husband, Ysidro of Carlsbad, NM, Cecil Lujan and wife, Belen of Hobbs, NM and Bobby Lujan and wife, Esther of Visalia, CA; beloved daughter in Christ, Rosemary Ramirez and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Orlando Hernandez, Victor John Hernandez, Daniel Hernandez, Orlando Carrasco, II, Gabriel Carrasco and Orlando V. Carrasco.
