Glenda G. Staffel

Glenda Staffel, 78, of N. Canal Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 18, 2016, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Goings officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Glenda Staffel was born August 6, 1937 in Mountainair, New Mexico to Sidney and Nina (Lester) Taylor. She worked at Safeway and Furrs over 35 years. Glenda was a member of La Huerta Baptist Church. She also volunteered at the Cats Meow. Glenda loved gardening, cooking and having family gatherings. She loved to play Scrabble and was known to invent her own words. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Sid and Nina Taylor; husband, R.B. Staffel; brothers: Rey Taylor, Robert Taylor and Lester Taylor and sister, Jean Fletcher. Survivors are her sons: Tim Welch and wife, Angela of Carlsbad, NM, Ron Welch and wife, Cheryl of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Donnie Welch of Albuquerque, NM; daughters: Marcia Arney and husband, Scott of Carlsbad, NM, Courtney Hubbell and husband, Billy of Glenrose, Texas; sister, Nina Sue Mauldin and husband, Lynn of Artesia, NM numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
