Glen Kimbrough, age 82, of Riverview Street, Carlsbad, NM passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at his home. His daughter and son-in-law were by his side. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 20, 2016, 4:30 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Joe Gomez, an elder with the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, will be officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Glen was born in Bisbee, Arizona on September 26, 1933, the son of J.T. and Tommie Mae Kimbrough. Glen married Alice Anne Shields on June 11, 1955. He was baptized, active member of Jehovah's Witnesses, serving in numerous capacities as an elder for many years. Glen greatly enjoyed the bible teaching work that Jesus Christ commissioned his followers to do. His faith and hope were in God's promise of everlasting life through exercising faith in Jesus. Glen loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Glen retired from Western Ag mining, Carlsbad, NM. He had been a master mechanic and master welder. Glen took great pride in his work. He had an excellent reputation for his dependability and workmanship. He was a perfectionist in everything he did. Many people are proud owners of some of Glen's woodworking, including beautiful handmade pots and vases. These pieces of art have found their way into many homes all over the country. Glen was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Alice; his parents, J.T. and Tommie Mae; son, Billy Wayne Stockton; sisters: Viola Cearly and Ruby Tucker and one grandson, David Coleman Stockton. He is survived by one son, Jimmy Duane Stockton and wife, George Anna; one daughter, Connie S. Calderon and husband, A.C. Calderon; one brother, Jack Kimbrough of Creswell, Oregon; many nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, including Zoe Luz Calderon. Three of his grandchildren, Jeremiah and Jonathan Calderon and Amy Stockton will be honorary pallbearers. Glen was devoted to his faith, family and friends. He stood by and cared for his wife, Alice, through a long and difficult illness. Glen helped many family members and friends through their own difficult times. He always tried to do the right thing.
